THE LOCALS’ CAFÉ

Arriving into any new town, it is always a challenge to find the best local spots quickly. It’s a tricky exercise of trying places you see, word of mouth and time. One way to cut back on the lengthy process is jumping onto the Kyneton Directory to see what businesses are listed and what they have to offer. The Ruby Café is one such place that is featured on the directory which offers delicious all-day breakfast and brunch and fantastic coffee. It is worth a visit.

The owner, Robert Campbell, took over the café in 2019. Robert has a lot of experience in the hospitality industry and jumped at the chance to take over when he saw it and fell in love. Despite only owning the café for a few months before the pandemic hit, he relished the opportunity to be innovative and adapt to the changing world. One thing that hasn’t changed is their dedication to quality food, fantastic service and hospitality. They are passionate about supporting other local businesses, by employing local staff and supporting local farmers by sourcing quality produce within the region.
Robert says, “Kyneton is so unique because every business has a special offering but we all come together as one to benefit the local economy. I’m so excited and grateful to be part of this thriving community and town.” 2022 is looking to be a busy year for Ruby Café as renovations are expected to start soon. One thing that won’t change is that it will remain a café for locals. As Robert says to his customers, “This is your cafe, your space and it’s your Kyneton local”.
